FISC Notes
The Spridget Café will be open to ALL FISC Members from Thursday 21 June. Time of opening will depend on time of arrival at the circuit and building time of the tents. ALL HELP IS WELCOME.
The last time the FISC cars were at Snetterton, was 1996. It was a special weekend. A driver in another race series also owns & flies a second world war Spitfire. He landed on the Back straight ( which is on old 2WW runway) & parked up. He taxied the plane onto the main straight overnight & next morning , took off, circled & did a victory roll over the main straight. Since this event is Snettertons 50th anniversary weekend, there may also be something similar planned ! ( no promises though ).
For those of you who haven't driven here before, Snetterton has the longest straight of any UK race track. There is a very tricky bend onto Revett straight, The Bomb Hole is a very fast bend in 3rd & the chicane before the Senna straight is also very tricky. Choose your back axle accordingly.
This is great British track with a lot of history.
I'm afraid I don't remember anything about the ammeneties (toilets or showers) but there is a small café in the paddock area ( for toilets).
The max. permitted towing speed with a trailor in the UK is 100 KM/H on a motorway, 100 KM/H on a dual carraige, & 50 KM/H in built up areas.
Petrol & Diesel are a ridiculous price in the UK ( despite all the empty Election promises currently being thrown around !). Super plus unleaded is about 0.80 GBP ( about 1.30 Euro ) per litre, So take some with you. & fill up your Van just before getting on the ferry at Calais. Should you need some at the race track there is a filling station very close.
You can reach the Spridget Café directly by phone, dialling 0031 653 182 375. (NOTE: from Holland you dial 0653 182 375). - please only use this number for emergencies.
