Dave O'Neill
"Dealer Dave"
Dave O'Neill built thi slovely looking Ashley/Sprite from bit had lying around his garage. He has a number of garages !
Since the car is road legal it can be driven on the road. Dave swears he never does this, but I have proof otherwise
Check out the picture of Dave himself, full race gear & helmet, standing on a public road ! I hope there are no kids looking at this, because that's not a very good example to set is it Dave ?
Sometimes this car can be quick. It passed me coming out of Eau Rouge whilst going up the hill. All I could do was watch him. And then he broke the crank.
Broken crank, rod through the block, etc etc. The only salvagable bits were the flywheel, water pump & head. It looked like the end of the 1999 season for Dave,
But another FISC member lent Dave a short engine for the rest of the season. The engine has been returned to the original owner & Dave finished the 1999 season in 12th place.
As far as I am aware the only other hobbies Dave has are drinking beer quickly & playing the guitar badly, or does he play quickly & drink badly ?
He also deals in Midget/Sprite spares in his spare time.
Dave's Car
The car was rebuilt from a bare shell. It has an Ashley bonnet hardtop.
As I said above the car IS road legal, but as far as I am aware, It is no longer used on the road.
I'm not sure who painted it ( I think there is a school for the blind close to his house), but it is the only car I have ever seen where the paint finish under the car is better than the paint on the top.
Dave sources some of his race parts from David Gathercole.
