Carel Küthe
"The Gentleman"
Carel raced in the series since it's inception. He is the perfect Gentleman both on and off the track.
He was quite rightly the first recipient of the FISC "Man of the weekend" award.
He also rallied & sometimes had a tough choice to make between rallying, racing & his wife !
I'm not sure how he made his choices but Carel has rarely missed a race.
Sorry Mrs Küthe !
Due to ill health Carel was forced to hang up his helmet at the end of the 2000 season. I will miss him.
Carel's Car
A standard Midget silhouette. This is an ex-Peter May race car and so is painted in Peter May Purple/White colour scheme. The car was heavily damaged in Assen in the last race of the 1999 season, but the car was rebuilt & succesfully run in the 2000 season, winning its class title in another race series.
The car runs a 1380 cc engine with a single Weber carb and Straight cut gearbox.
Carel sold the car at the start of the 2001 season & I expect it will soon be racing with us again ( I have heard that it will be repainted though !)
