Peter Hiley
Peter has been racing almost since I was born. ( is he old or am I young ? - neither actually. I did say almost !) His first FISC race was in 2001 when it snowed over the weekend. He was one of the few drivers prepared to race on the Sunday when the races were cancelled. Is this because he has a wealth of experience & can handle a slippy race car in the Wet & Ice ? or because he enjoys his racing so much he just can't get enough ? A very experienced racer ( He has previously won a few MG championships ), I think Peter was a bit shocked at the level of competition in the FISC races, since as he put it "I've never been lapped before !".
A very likeable chap, with an equally likeable team.
Peter's Car
This is a cracker ! Peter originally bought his car in 1965 ( I was 3 then !) as a write-off. He reshelled it and following an accident a year later (through no fault of his own) he had to reshell it again. He then sold the car in 1967 as a road car. Some years later whilst racing in UK Midget series he was buying various cars as "donors" & came across his car again. He bought it & decided this was the car he'd use for FISC. The car has undergone a full restoration and looks immaculate.
Further work will/has been done on the car, since Peter was experiencing all sorts of, braking & performance problems on his first outing with us. So much so that various brake parts were removed from his trailer to replum the race car.
Given his wealth of experience & knowledge I'm sure Peter & his car will quickly work their way up the grid.
